What we treat

Irregular, painful or heavy periods

PCOS & PCOD

Pregnancy and antenatal care

Cycles that are unpredictable, periods lasting more than seven days, bleeding heavy enough to disrupt work or sleep, or pain that painkillers don't settle. Common, and usually treatable.

Irregular cycles, weight change, acne, excess hair, difficulty conceiving. Management combines lifestyle, targeted investigation and medication — and works better started early.

Confirming pregnancy, first-trimester scans and blood work, routine antenatal visits, growth monitoring and delivery planning. High-risk pregnancies followed more closely.

Infertility and difficulty conceiving

Fibroids, cysts and ovarian problems

Menopause and perimenopause

Trying for a year without success — or six months if you're over 35 — is reason enough for an evaluation. Both partners are investigated. Both our doctors are infertility specialists.

Fibroids and ovarian cysts are common and often harmless. Whether they need treatment depends on size, location and symptoms. Dr. Neha Jain is a laparoscopic surgeon.

Hot flushes, disturbed sleep, mood changes, irregular cycles, bone health. Perimenopause can begin years before periods stop and is often mistaken for stress.

Vaginal infections and discomfort

Contraception and family planning

Routine gynaecological check-ups

Discharge, itching, burning, odour, recurrent urinary symptoms, painful intercourse. Common, and easier to treat than to endure.

The options explained, prescription and fitting, and Copper T insertion and removal at the clinic.

Pelvic examination, Pap smear where indicated, breast examination and advice, and HPV vaccination guidance.

Privacy at your visit

Not every consultation involves an examination. If one is needed, it will be explained before it happens, and you can ask for a chaperone, ask questions during it, or ask to stop.

If there is anything that would make the visit easier — a chaperone, more time, a particular doctor — tell reception when you book. It is a routine request and nobody will find it unusual.

We offer a supportive environment for patients of all age groups, from young adolescents seeking guidance to elderly women requiring routine screening.

How to choose a gynaecologist

No clinic can honestly tell you it's the best one. What you can do is check four things.

Check the qualifications

Check whether you can keep seeing the same doctor

MBBS alone is not a gynaecology specialist. Look for MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DNB (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) — three-year postgraduate degrees — or DGO, a two-year postgraduate diploma. Sub-specialisation in infertility or laparoscopic surgery adds further training on top. Ask for the doctor's State Medical Council registration number; it can be verified on the National Medical Commission register, and any practising doctor should be willing to give it.

Gynaecology is relationship medicine more than most specialties. You will discuss things you would not raise with a stranger, and a doctor who already knows your history does not need to be told twice. Ask whether the clinic runs fixed doctor timings.

Check what's available if you need more

Read recent reviews, not just the rating

Ultrasound, blood tests and a laparoscopic surgeon in the same place means fewer appointments across the city and one set of records. Ask what happens if you need a scan — is it arranged, or are you sent away to arrange it yourself?

Look at what patients actually describe. A review saying the doctor explained the options without rushing tells you more than a bare five stars — and recent reviews tell you more than old ones.

What happens at your first visit

The conversation comes first, and it matters most. Your cycle, your symptoms, previous pregnancies, surgeries, medications, family history.

Nothing you say is unusual to a gynaecologist.

Examination if needed — not every consultation requires one, and it will be explained before it happens.

Investigations only where they change the decision — blood tests, ultrasound or a swab, if the history points that way.

A plan you understand — what is likely going on, what the options are with their trade-offs, and what should improve by when.

What to bring

- The dates of your last two or three periods, or your tracking app

- Any current medicines, in their boxes

- Previous reports and scans

- Your questions, written down

Frequently asked questions

Is there a lady gynaecologist in Vasant Kunj?

Yes. Both gynaecologists at All Is Well Medical Centre are women — Dr. Meghana Lal and Dr. Neha Jain. A chaperone is available on request for any examination.

What qualifications should a gynaecologist have?

MBBS is the basic medical degree and not a specialist qualification on its own. Look for MS or DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or a DGO diploma. Sub-specialisation in infertility or laparoscopic surgery adds further training.

When should I see a gynaecologist about irregular periods?

If cycles are consistently unpredictable, periods last more than seven days, bleeding is heavy enough to disrupt daily life, or you have severe pain. Also if periods stop for three months without pregnancy. Irregular cycles often have a treatable cause.

How long should I try to conceive before seeing a doctor?

Twelve months of trying without success, or six months if you are over 35. Sooner if you have irregular periods, known PCOS, endometriosis, previous pelvic surgery or a history of pelvic infection.

Can I consult during my period?

Yes. Consultation and discussion are unaffected. A routine Pap smear is usually rescheduled, but nothing else needs to wait.

What is the gynaecologist consultation fee in Vasant Kunj?

At All Is Well Medical Centre it is ₹1,000 booking directly. Fees differ between clinics and by booking channel — worth confirming when you book, wherever you go.

Do you do Copper T insertion and removal?

Yes, both are done at the clinic.

Can I get an ultrasound?

Yes — we arrange it through a partner centre and the report comes back to your doctor here. Blood tests can be done at the clinic or with free home sample collection.
